Louis Belleville

In 2008, with no prior martial arts experience, Louis started training in Ryukyu Kobudo Tesshinkan with William Chung Sensei at the Dunbar Community Centre.

Quickly enchanted by the complexity and multifaceted depths of the art, Louis continued to pursue the process of learning it during the ensuing years.

During the summer of 2011, he followed Chung Sensei in joining the Ryukyu Kobudo Shimbukan system and applied himself to grasp the subtleties of this new style.

On August 4th, 2017, Louis Belleville was awarded the rank of Nidan by Akamine Hiroshi Sensei, the Kaicho for Ryukyu Kobudo Shimbukan.

Since then, Louis has carried on training in Kobudo, and continued to strive to improve himself and his technique.

Louis is currently studying Computer Science at the University of British Columbia.
